Francisca Perez purchased a new refrigerator from Home Depot that malfunctioned shortly after. Despite numerous attempts to repair the fridge, the problem persisted for months. With the help of Problem Solver Darian Trotter, Perez was able to have the faulty fridge replaced.

Francisca Perez arranged her groceries to keep everything away from the back of the fridge in order to keep them from freezing. Not even that was a guarantee.SAN ANTONIO - After forking over cash for a high-ticket item in this tough economy, many might pass on paying for an extended warranty. After all, there's peace of mind with the manufacturer's warranty that comes with the purchase. That wasn't the case for a Fox SA couple who purchased a faulty fridge.

Problem Solver Darian Trotter has tonight's Fox Follow-up. This was a very frustrated Francisca Perez back in the fall, while she arranged her groceries to keeping everything away from the back of the fridge; in order to keep them from freezing. Not even that was a guarantee. Investigative Reporter Darian Trotter asked, 'And it's still freezing your produce and fruit? Yes,' Perez replied. But the ice-maker in her expensive new refrigerator was not working. She had to use ice trays for cubes of ice. The large chucks of ice that would form in at the bottom of her freezer were not at all what she paid for.She bought it at Home Depot. A home-improvement giant with a strong reputation of quality products. Francisca and her husband say they’ve been loyal to Home Depot for years.Trotter asked, 'And that's why you kept going? Uh huh,' Perez replied.' As soon as she started having problems, she says she contacted Home Depot. They got in touch with GE Appliances, and technicians were sent out to attempt repairs. Trotter asked, 'The technician who look at it, did he give you any indication that it could be repaired or fixed? The last one who was here said i don't think it can be repaired,' Perez replied.'Days went by, weeks went by, months went by,' Perez said. Still nothing. So, she called the Problem Solver.
