The New York Museum of Transportation in Rush hosted a special day on Sunday, June 16, 2024, with free countryside rides on its historic trolly. Rush, N.Y. — The New York Museum of Transportation hosted a special day on Sunday for fathers and grandfathers with free admission and trolly rides.
The rides operate through scenic countryside, recreating the interurban trolley era of a century ago. The museum's vintage trolley departed five times, full of passengers looking for a unique way to spend Father's Day. “We’d like the dads and the kids to bond and enjoy the trolly rides and the train and transportation history, it’s all over the place here,” said James Dierks. “We’ve got horse-drawn vehicles, we’ve got buses, cars, a firetruck, all that neat stuff.”
The full museum experience includes a huge model railroad, the Midtown Plaza Monorail, trolley cars, a steam locomotive, buses, a fire engine, horse-drawn vehicles, and numerous exhibits of transportation history.
