The father of a teen slashed Friday at a high school in The Bronx is demanding to know how the violence could happen on campus.
The 17-year-old victim, who attends Fordham Leadership Academy, remains in the hospital. News 4’s Checkey Beckford reports.Police say the unidentified teen was stabbed inside the stairwell of Fordham Leadership Academy at 500 E.
Fordham Road shortly before noon. Two students were taken into custody, but their names have not been released, nor has a possible motive been revealed."When I see my son coming down -- wow! I can’t believe what happened," the father -- who asked not be identified due to concerns about his son's safety -- told NBC New York.That father was summoned to the school Friday after the slashing. The teen was cut several times, police say. Law enforcement sources tell News 4 New York that the attack took place in a second floor stairwell."I say 'How this can happen in the school?,' that parent asked outside St. Barnabas Hospital, where his son is recovering. Outside the school is different, but in the school?," he wondered. That father says the building has metal detectors. The scalpel, the weapon police say was used in the attack, has been recovered.
