KUALA LUMPUR: The father of the Ulu Tiram police station attacker last May has claimed trial at the High Court here to three charges of promoting terrorist ideology, providing support, and possessing firearms related to the Daesh terrorist group.
The charge was brought under Section 130JG of the Penal Code , which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 30 years and a fine if convicted. These sections carry the punishment of life imprisonment or a maximum of 40 years, a fine, and the confiscation of any property used or intended to be used for the offences, if convicted.
