The young American sprinter recently clinched gold at the Paris 2024 showpiece, setting a personal best time of 9.79 seconds to claim first place ahead of Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson and fellow American, Fred Kerley. The highly rated sprinter is poised to participate in the 200-metre heats, with the aim of qualifying for the semi-finals and the final, which would afford him the chance to clinch another gold medal.“When you reach the top, you start to ask yourself, ‘What do I need to do to be considered the greatest when I leave the sport?’” said Lyles, following his victory in the 200 meters at the US Olympic Team Trials 2024.
