Wildfire crews were called to another fast-growing fire in Kane County that quickly doubled within just hours on Sunday, July 7, 2024. The Deer Springs Fire was discovered just after 1 p.m., but grew to 1,200 acres by 6 p.m.

The Deer Springs fire was first reported just after 1 p.m. Sunday. By 4 p.m., the fire had grown to 500 acres.Officials from the Bureau of Land Management said a Color Country Interagency Incident Management Type-3 Team was responding. Crews from BLM Utah, Color Country Interagency Fire, Utah Department of Natural Resources, Kane County Sheriff’s Office, multiple local fire departments, the US Forest Service and National Park Service were all involved in the effort to contain the flames.
