This was the era of space hoppers, platform soles and Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep, and our Dear Green Place was changing fast.
But away from grand openings, historic closures and sporting successes, 1972 was also a year of great tragedy, and notable for deadly fires.. That summer, Glasgow would be rocked by yet another large fire. Sadly, this time around there would be human casualties.
