Joe Rodon has impressed since joining Leeds United from Tottenham Hotspur on loan but Daniel Farke wants to see the defender striving to produce even better performances
Joe Rodon has made an impressive start to life at Leeds United but he has plenty more to give in order to reach his full potential in white. That’s the message from Daniel Farke, who admits he has taken Rodon aside to chat about how he can improve at Thorp Arch and learn lessons from his first couple of months at the club.
That dismissal saw the Wales international miss the win over Watford at Elland Road and Farke decided against bringing him straight back into the side at Southampton, citing previous moments of imperfection. His return to the line-up against QPR last week saw Leeds secure their fifth clean sheet of the season, though, as he underlined the talent and level-headedness he brings to United’s backline.
However, Farke wants to see Rodon striving to reach even higher standards and he believes he has more room to grow. “We had many clean sheets with him. Yes, also a few games where we have conceded, for example, at Ipswich. He was definitely there with good performances but has not reached his perfect level. I think there's much more to come from him and much more potential for example, when we speak about the yellow-red card he had to handle it in a different way.
