It did not name the four suspects but said two were British citizens and two were Romanian citizens.
The U.S. Embassy first received a complaint that an American woman was being held at the brothers’ home without her consent,“Victims were recruited by British citizens by misrepresenting their intention to enter into a marriage/cohabitation relationship and the existence of genuine feelings of love ,” a translated version of DIICOT’s statement said.
