Rock legend David Lee Roth took to the stage for the first time in about half a decade.

The last time anyone saw him perform live was right before the pandemic. Roth — who’s been absent from the stage for about five years or so — sang a set mostly comprised Van Halen songs, the publication adds.

These included “Runnin’ with the Devil,”” “Atomic Punk,” and “Jamie’s Cryin’.” Many a person took to social media platforms such as X in order to give their two cents on Roth’s return. As is expected on the Internet, some comments were very loving and supportive; others, vitriolic. “Please just retire,” wrote one commenter in the latter category. “You are destroying all my great memories of youth…” “I’m proud of him for doing what he loves,” stated someone in a more positive light. “People talking smack are cynical. “Compare Roth to other rockers of his day, and he’s still looking good and sounding alright. Even if he didn’t, which judge him for enjoying himself? The guy is a legend.”, Roth originally parted ways with Van Halen to try his hand at a solo career following their “1984” album. He briefly came back in 1996, then again from 2007 till 2020.that the last time Roth was seen on stage was when he opened for KISS back in March 2020, right before the pandemic. At one point he vowed to retire. “We’ve reached the end of my first retirement,” Roth quipped at one point during the M3 performance. “How many retirements did Rocky have, nine?”11 of the best concerts in Pa. in April 2025 and where to buy ticketsNew adult diaper designed for use in the pit at rock concerts If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.and agree that your clicks, interactions, and personal information may be collected, recorded, and/or stored by us and social media and other third-party partners in accordance with our
