Jose Valenzuela was seething after Chris Colbert was awarded a controversial victory
When the three official judges’ scorecards were read out, Colbert was declared the victor by unanimous decision with all three scoring it 95-94 in his favour.The two fighters began to argue in the ring and much of what they were saying to each other was difficult to make out.Colbert instantly offered a rematch, as he said, ‘We can run it back,’ but Valenzuela responded, ‘Be a man, you didn’t win.
Valenzuela told Colbert, ‘You’re tripping, you know you didn’t win,’ to which Colbert replied, ‘Why have you got to be a sore loser?’The argument ended with Colbert holding up his winner’s medal in Valenzuela’s face and sticking his tongue out at him. When they were interviewed separately, the crowd cheered loudly for Valenzuela and booed viciously for Colbert.
