"I got worried and concerned after multiple of my calls to make contact with my children went unanswered and multiple attempts to contact Ms. Wilcox to check on my children, to check on their safety and welfare, which led me to contact law enforcement," Holsey said.Police said the officer who went to Wilcox's home on Bartlett Street was following up on an investigation, with Wilcox to be arrested for custodial interference. "And when he attempted to arrest her, she immediately pulled away and began to resist the arrest," said Captain Greg Bello from the Rochester Police Department."It ultimately led to her ripping the officer's radio off the microphone for the radio, striking him with that, and they're in a closed space or in a bathroom when this is happening, so she's kicking and striking at the officer, including with his radio, which then is a dangerous situation because that doesn't allow for him to call for backup, and then Wilcox's two children got involved," he said. "I did try and allow her visitation with her grandchildren, because she is a grandmother," Holsey said, "but I don't believe it will be in my children's best interest for them to have any visitation or any contact with her due to the circumstances." After other officers arrived, Wilcox, her 18-year-old daughter, Kahmyia Coats, and her 16-year-old son were taken into custody. All three face a range of charges, including assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, and criminal mischief.
