A simple savings challenge outlined for families to help them save £780 in a year. The challenge involves saving increasing amounts each month in a savings tin, ranging from £10 to £120. This flexible approach allows families to tailor their savings amounts to their budget.
We all know how difficult it is to save and in the current climate it feels harder than ever. Where families are concerned, there's always something else the money needs spending on.
Back then I explained how I'd heard of other challenges - saving £2 coins or putting a certain amount away each day - but with the hectic lives most families lead, it's all too easy for these to go out the window in the first few weeks of the new year. While it means during three months of the year you'll have to find £100 or more spare, on other months it will be much lower, so you can pick and choose when you're able to save the most.
