Jonas Strunk was the victim Friday evening's shooting, according to his family.
The victim of Friday night’s shooting in Harrisburg was killed almost exactly 15 years to the day after his father was murdered in the same area, according to his family.
Although police have not formally named him, family members of Jonas Strunk have identified him as the victim and have“He was a beautiful person and genuinely cared about everyone,” Strunk’s brother Khalil Allen wrote on a GoFundMe page. “Everything that we receive we will use for his funeral expenses to lay him to rest and to give some type of temporary help for his 3 children.”
Strunk’s death, Allen added, comes mere days before the July 22, 2007, anniversary of their father’s murder. That killing happened only about a half-block away, according to Strunk’s sister, Ashley Trinta. Trinta on Sunday afternoon confirmed Strunk’s death and the details of the fundraiser; one of the children Strunk leaves behind is only a few months old, Trinta said.
Strunk was killed late Friday or early Saturday. Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Evergreen and Haehnlen streets just after midnight,
