The family of a woman who died after being hit by a car on Christmas Eve have paid tribute to her.
died after being hit by a carThe incident occurred at a pedestrian crossing in Bennetts End Road, Hemel Hempstead, at around 6.10pm on Saturday, December 24.
It involved a black Nissan Juke and a pedestrian who police have named as 52-year-old Shelagh Christina Casey from Hemel Hempstead.Her brothers said: “Our sister will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was very outgoing and made friends easily.“A lifelong dog lover, she often rescued and rehomed dogs in need of her help.”A 33-year-old woman from Luton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She remains on police bail while enquiries continue.
PC David Burstow from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire road policing unit said: “If you saw the vehicle in the area prior to the incident, or captured any dash cam footage, we’d like to hear from you.”
