Children’s Medical Center Plano will expand to include a 395,000-square-foot tower that will increase the campus’s total beds from 72 to 240. It will include a new emergency department that will bear the Bright name. A number of North Texas hospital systems have initiated expansions into the fast-growing Collin and Denton counties in recent months, including Methodist Health System, which announced plans to build aon Wednesday. Fort Worth-based pediatric hospital system Cook Children’s will open a new site in Prosper in 2022.
