CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio - The family of a teenager shot and killed by Cleveland Heights police is holding a press conference Tuesday.

Representatives of the family say media availability will begin at 11 a.m. in front of Cleveland City Heights City Hall. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations are investigating after an 18-year-old Cleveland Heights teenager was shot and killed by police after a domestic dispute Thursday night. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of the man who died after the shooting as 18-year-old Christian Alexander Tyson Thomas.In an August 30 press conference, Police Chief Christopher Britton said police were dispatched to to the 1300 block of Yellowstone Road around 10 p.m.

Chief Britton said witnesses on scene reported Thomas was inside the home in an argument with his father.Chief Britton said Thomas was then seen standing in the doorway of the home with the gun in his hand.Thomas then came out of the home and ran into the Cleveland Heights Police officers at the side of the house.Thomas died from his injuries at the scene, according to Chief Britton.Chief Britton said in the bodycam footage he watched, he did not see a gun in Thomas’ hand.
