"I got a phone call from my brother,” Becky Tice said. “He said they hadn’t heard from Austin in three days, but not to worry. Everything was going to be fine. They just wanted to let me know. I thought I better tell my principal because I was so distracted. I told him about the phone call I received. I told him don’t worry. I know that Marines or somebody are going to go in there and get him back, probably within the week. That didn’t happen.

On Sunday, Syrian rebels seized the capital Damascus after a 13-year civil war. The unexpected turn of events has Becky Tice dreaming of the moment she will finally be reunited with her nephew Austin Tice.
