Family and friends have set up a memorial for a father of two who was shot and killed after going to a store to pick up some items in Inglewood Tuesday night.
The shooting happened outside the store at the corner of Rosewood Avenue and Arbor Vitae Street at around 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Inglewood Police Department.
The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Jose Guadalupe Valenzuela. Two others were also shot and taken to the hospital in critical condition. Valenzuela's mother was singing a hymn when Eyewitness News arrived at the scene. Many of Valenzuela's family and friends had gathered at the scene as they try to deal with their shock and grief.
"We came here and when we came here, he was right here lying down. I can't believe it. I still can't believe it," said Maria Rodriguez, the victim's sister."We're just devastated. We don't Even have words to describe how we feel. This is horrible. A horrible thing," said Gabriela Rodriguez, the victim's niece.Friends and family have been leaving flowers and candles in Valenzuela's honor at the scene.
