An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside an apartment in east Harris County Sunday.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was found at the Lafayette Village apartment complex located at 4822 E. Sam Houston Pkwy N. near Woodforest.units responded to a welfare check at an apt complex, 4822 E Sam Houston Pkwy N . An adult female was found deceased inside an apt unit. Appears to be a homicide. Investigators are en route.Sgt. Jason Brown with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division said around 2:30 p.m.
Brown said the family became concerned after not being able to reach her for several days. They came to the apartment and broke a window in order to get inside. When they entered, they found her dead.“We know that she is deceased from what appears to be some type of trauma, but we’re not exactly sure how she died at this point,” Brown said.
Investigators are trying to piece together a timeline of what happened and who may have been at the apartment, but said she appears to have been dead at least a day. “She lives here at the location alone, except for her son so we’re in the process of trying to track him down and speak with him,” Brown said.Christian Terry covered digital news in Tyler and Wichita Falls before returning to the Houston area where he grew up.
