Authorities in Washington County, Pennsylvania, are investigating after discovering a family had been living with the decomposing body of a relative for approximately six months. Police responded to a 911 call requesting a wellness check at a home on Hayes Avenue in Canton Township. The body was found in an advanced state of decomposition, estimated to have been there for around six months. One of the deceased's relatives stated he only noticed the body was deceased that day. Authorities believe the death was not suspicious but are investigating possible financial gain after the death, examining social security, retirement, and bank accounts.
