Storm Babet has claimed the lives of two people in Scotland so far and its downpours are now impacting England.

People living on a main road have been left unable to park outside their homes again due to Storm Babet. The weatherfront has been battering the north-east of Scotland since yesterday and its torrential rain is now affecting parts of England.

Justin Bowen, 47, lives on the road and claims residents are affected every time it rains. He claims his girlfriend's car was among five vehicles written off following flooding in August and that locals now park elsewhere during bad weather. "Eastham village is renowned and Ferry Road is renowned for it. As soon as it starts raining you have to move your car."

A United Utilities spokesperson said: “We are working with Wirral Council to assist with their investigations into flooding on Ferry Road.” Residents in Brechin, Angus, were told to evacuate their homes yesterday, including one woman who had only moved into her home hours before. Two people have died in Scotland so far.
