With Fallout Season 2 just around the corner, the creators have revealed a major update on the filming schedule for Season 3.
Executive producer Jonathan Nolan offered a promising production update while teasing the show’s continued ambition.The massive success of Season 1, which drew over 100 million viewers and earned Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, has accelerated Amazon’s plans.
. The streamer has already officially renewed Fallout for Season 3, and the creative team is eager to get back to work. When asked by IGN about the production schedule and release date update for Fallout Season 3, executive producer Jonathan Nolan provided a hopeful update. “With regard to production, we are hoping to be shooting again next summer,” Nolan revealed. “We will see if that all comes together. Best laid plans and all. But we are excited that the scope of the show feels undiminished season to season. We are able to work quickly enough to get back on the air in a reasonable amount of time.” This comment suggests the team aims to begin filming in mid-2026. Nolan emphasized their desire to avoid the long gaps that have become common in television, stating, “What’s happened in television, in terms of taking longer from season to season, is kind of an unfortunate trend. So you do not want the show to lose any of its scope, but we know we like to be back on the air as soon as we can.” This forward momentum comes as Season 2 prepares to debut on December 17, 2025. The new season will follow Lucy , the Ghoul , and Maximus as their journey takes them to the fan-favorite, neon-lit ruins of New Vegas.
