Rumors of a Fallout 3 remaster have been swirling for a while now, as calls from fans grow for a renewal of the 2008 RPG classic that, although still a brilliant example of the franchise, has definitely started to show its age.
The arrival of the excellent Oblivion Remastered has only deepened those calls further, as it showed exactly what can be done with some relatively minor changes and a new look, while additional rumors and leaks seemed to confirm that something was happening behind the scenes. All of that culminated yesterday , when a seemingly unrelated announcement contained one small piece of information that all but confirms that the game is coming, and very soon at that. Fallout 5 Be Damned, The Fallout 3 Remaster Has All But Been Confirmed In case you missed it, McFarlane Toys announced their upcoming product lines for the rest of the year, and amongst a ton of exciting physical releases, they included an item titled ELITE EDITION 7IN - FALLOUT 3 REMASTERED - #13 T-45B NUKA COLA. It serves as comfortably the best bit of information we have had so far that the Fallout 3 remaster is real, as there simply isn't a world where a company as major as McFarlane Toys would release a product with that title for a game that doesn't exist. In even more exciting news, the toy is set to ship in July, which could give us an approximate date for the remaster's arrival. It's a fair decision, as the excitement generated by just suddenly dropping the game on players' heads definitely makes shadow dropping a more than legitimate method of release. It worked well for Oblivion, and so it's almost certain that the developer will be looking to follow a similar pattern with the Fallout 3 remaster. I, for one, cannot wait to jump back into the Capital Wasteland once again.
