Look back on Linda Ronstadt’s legacy with the first trailer for ‘The Sound of My Voice’ (RonstadtMovie), featuring interviews with DollyParton, Jackson Browne (SongsofJBrowne), TheBonnieRaitt and more:
An icon for not only female rock musicians but also the rock genre as a whole, Linda Ronstadt is a pioneering artist in the music industry, and the forthcoming documentaryRonstadt came to fame in the ’60s folk-rock scene as the leader singer of the Stone Poneys, and from there she branched out to her own solo work and became the highest-paid female artist in rock music, winning 10 Grammy Awards out of her 26 nominations.
Opening in September, the documentary will also shed a light on Ronstadt’s political advocacy work for causes such as same-sex marriage and unfair treatment of undocumented immigrants. The trailer for the documentary shows performances and archived footage of the legendary singer, as well as interviews with other artists, such as Dolly Parton,“Linda was the queen, she was like what Beyoncé is now,” Raitt says in the trailer.
