Published:The last day of summer is really going to feel like summer across Alabama. Shown above are the forecast high temperatures for next Wednesday, Sept. 21. Some spots in northwest Alabama could hit 100 degrees. The fall equinox, thought of as the first official day of fall, will be Thursday, Sept. 22.Alabama’s “fake fall” is officially over, and the heat is scheduled to make a big, cruel comeback next week.

The fall equinox, the day many think of as the official start to fall, will be Thursday, Sept. 22. Highs are forecast to climb into the low to mid-90s that day as well.Highs on the first day of fall, next Thursday, Sept. 22, will feel more like the dead of summer. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center isn’t offering any hope for relief. The 6- to 10-day temperature outlook is showing a good chance of above-average temperatures for Alabama and a sizeable chunk of the U.S. for the period from Sept. 21-25:The 8- to 14-day outlook isn’t helping, either.
