The chilled room with beer and spirits will be locked electronically to keep it secure
A 'beer cave' with CCTV cameras that use AI to spot underage customers is to be introduced to a Grangemouth shop.
Solicitor Gordon Emslie, representing the shop owner Tajinder Pal Singh told members that Mr Singh had bought the shop last summer and had already changed the hours and introduced home delivery.Mr Singh now has planning permission to extend the premises and part of that will include creating a chilled beer and wine room.
Mr Emslie said that the room would be chilled and would be locked electronically by the person behind the till, effectively controlling who can enter."It's new technology. It reduces carbon footprint because instead of individual units there is an air-conditioning unit in the roof, which is 30 per cent cheaper to run to reduce costs."
