Councillors said they considered the former quarry site 'brownfield' land rather than countryside

Another house can be built in countryside on the edge of Torwood village, Larbert, after a successful appeal to Falkirk councillors.

Two objections were concerned the site would extend the 'ribbon development' along Glen Road to outside the village limits. They also feared there would be a loss of biodiversity and increased traffic, while there were concerns about the safety of the access. Councillor James Kerr agreed, saying in his opinion the development would "enhance the area" and this was supported by Provost Robert Bissett.
