The Falcons have reportedly requested to interview Eagles front office member Joe Douglas for their GM job.
Dave Zangaro and Reuben Frank discuss the top remaining candidates for the Eagles’ offensive coordinator job. The Atlanta Falcons have requested to interview Eagles front office member Joe Douglas for their general manager position, CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reported on Thursday.
Douglas, 49, came back to the Eagles this past season as a senior personnel director/advisor to the general manager. From 2019-2024, Douglas was the New York Jets’ general manager before getting fired in November of 2024. He got that Jets GM job after spending four seasons with the Eagles from 2016-19 as a top personnel guy under Howie Roseman. It’s a little unclear exactly what Douglas’s responsibilities have been with the Eagles in his second stint in Philadelphia but Roseman likes to surround himself with top personnel employees. In addition to Douglas, former Broncos VP of player personnel Matt Russell is also a senior personnel director/advisor to the general manager on staff. The Falcons this offseason hired Philly guy Kevin Stefanski as their new head coach. Stefanski and his Cleveland Browns were at the NovaCare Complex this summer for a joint practice against the Eagles. Earlier this offseason, the Miami Dolphins interviewed Eagles assistant general manager Alec Halaby for their GM job but eventually landed on Jon-Eric Sullivan. Halaby has garnered GM interest the past few offseasons but has yet to make the jump to GM.
