Family and friends of Tyasia Manning gathered at Pulaski Park on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 to release balloons to honor her life. Rochester , N.Y. — Faith leaders and loved ones of the two women killed during a mass shooting at Maplewood Park in Rochester are continuing to honor their memory.
The Episcopal Diocese of Rochester held a prayer peace walk on Tuesday in remembrance of the two women and to recognize the five others who were injured. "One of the reasons we're here as church people is to show up when things go badly so we can be here and tell the community we're here to pray, work, and act to change the cycle of violence," said Bishop Kara Wagner Sherer of the Episcopal Diocese.Dozens wore green and released balloons of the same color to honor her life.
