The Gemini Center’s natatorium construction project moves ahead.
The former at a cost not to exceed $390,000 is for owner’s representative services, while the latter -- not to exceed $24,000 -- provides independent architect/engineer services for the Gemini Recreation Center rehabilitation project.
“There will be a special meeting on Oct. 14 and a final meeting on Oct. 21 for passage. Hopefully, we’ll be in contract at the end of October.” Fairview Park also earmarked $1.6 million in American Rescue Plan monies, as well as $200,000 in recreation construction funds, with the property tax increase covering the $12.9 million balance.
This included Phase 1 involving rebuilding the non-natatorium roofs and the HVAC systems; Phase 2 being the natatorium swimming pool replacement, pool piping, pool equipment and interior curtainwall; and Phase 3 involving the natatorium roof, exterior curtainwall, natatorium HVAC, fire protection, lighting and electrical.“I wouldn’t say it’s multi-phased now,” he said.
