According to a Fairbanks Police criminal complaint the children, ages 11 and 9, were playing in the outdoor ice rink when Chelsea Charlie, attempted to kidnap them.

FastCast digital headlines for the afternoon of Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024.FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A 21-year-old woman was arrested in Fairbanks Sunday and charged with felony attempted kidnapping and two counts of assault and disorderly conduct after Fairbanks Police said she tried to take two children from the Big Dipper Ice Arena.

According to a Fairbanks Police criminal complaint, the children — ages 11 and 9 — were playing in the outdoor ice rink when Chelsea Charlie attempted to kidnap them.However, the report said Charlie stayed by the door and tried to grab an 11-year-old which caused them to fall. While the 11-year-old got away, police said a nine-year-old also fell.

That’s when the report said Charlie grabbed the 9-year-old’s hand, and when they refused to leave, Charlie dragged them toward the exit. According to the report, the children were still visibly scared as the nine-year-old was seen shaking as they told an officer what happened.Alaska’s News Source has reached out to Charlie’s attorney for comment but has not heard back as of publication.
