On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 American lost their lives in the worst terrorist attack in our nation's history. More than 700 of those victims were from New Jersey. Most perished at the World Trade Center. Others were on hijacked planes. At least two worked at the Pentagon.With this week's anniversary, NJ Advance Media again presents a tribute in photos to 704 victims known to have lived or grown up in the Garden State.

This 2015 photo provided by the National September 11 Memorial & Museum shows a photo of Scott Michael Johnson in a display at the museum in New York. The display included a photo and a hockey puck that were a gift of the Thomas S. Johnson family in memory of their son, who died at the World Trade Center in the Sept. 11 attacks.
