Wearing a face mask 'does NOT instill a false sense of security against Covid-19', scientists claim
Early in the pandemic, the WHO warned masks can 'create a false sense of security that can lead to neglecting other essential measures such as hand hygiene practices'.Research on how well various types of masks and face coverings varies but, recently, and in light of the pandemic of COVID-19, experts are increasingly leaning toward the notion that something is better than nothing.
