FAA shuts down airpsace near Atlantic after reports of plan to shoot down Chinese spy balloon
A senior U.S. official told Fox News about the plan on Saturday after ABC News reported on Friday that a similar plan was being considered.The FAA issued a ground stop and airpsace clearance for parts of North Carolina and South Carolina and operations at Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Wilmington were paused for"national security initiatives" just after 1 p.m. on Saturday.
