Eyewitness News continued its 23-year-old tradition of sharing holiday messages on Christmas morning. Viewers shared their hopes for the new year, expressions of gratitude, what they will miss, and even what they won't miss. Pedro Rivera, Tanya Rivero, and Lee Goldberg presented the news, weather, and holiday messages. Messages of love, gratitude, and remembrance of those who have passed were prevalent. The tradition began in the months following 9/11 and has continued ever since.
The broadcast also featured messages from Bill Ritter, a tribute to a late mother, Disney CEO Bob Iger, a family thanking hospital heroes, and a greeting for the troops. The news concluded by noting the calendar rarity of Hanukkah starting on Christmas Day this year
