Wildlife, waterfalls and wildflowers are all out there to be seen in Sibley Volcanic Preserve and Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park.
“Among all the chaos … trees down everywhere and trails washed out … I found them,” says reader Mark Stauffer of the black-dotted red bugs clustered on branches and stumps at the bottom of the French Trail.
Meanwhile, at Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve, a hike to the vernal pond by the labyrinth may surprise you with the return of the newts that lay eggs in the reeds. Everywhere you hike, there are nature’s wonders — wildflowers, waterfalls and wildlife. It’s a great time to get out for a walk in our regional parks.
