IPOH: The organisers of a creative arts festival here have denied that a group which did a dance at the venue – which some have labelled as"extreme" – were not part of the event.

The organisers, People of Remarkable Talents said the group, who attended the UBS Band concert as part of the Port Festival at Dataran Ipoh on Aug 20, did the dance on their own volition."However, the organisers wish to apologise if the dance offended community sensitivities. "How future concerts are organised is being studied so such incidents can be avoided,'' Port said in a statement on Friday .Port added that the main objective of the festival is to provide exposure and business opportunities to more than 300 artists in Perak.

The festival attracted around 20,000 visitors and generated approximately RM450,000 in revenue through the sale of food, drinks, creative arts products, performance events, exhibitors, competition as well as accommodation rentals.
