LOUISVILLE, Ky. — If you were confused by the final frenzied seconds of San Diego State’s 57-56 Elite Eight win over Creighton on Sunday, you’re not alone.
Both teams huddled for an agonizing 30 seconds during the review. Officials eventually decided that that there was no time left on the clock and called the game, sending San Diego State to its first Final Four. Creighton coach Greg McDermott, whose team was denied its first Final Four appearance, said the final call was a tough way to lose.
