President Joe Biden is planning to pardon thousands of Americans convicted of simple possession of marijuana, but Texas will not see much of an impact.

The shop owner, Collin Valencia, has previously faced charges for marijuana possession. "You face challenges with housing, loans, and banking, I mean with about everything," Valencia said. "If someone is currently stripped of rights via a state prosecution or a state conviction, they're going to get no relief from this," Shellist explained. He said a pardon allows people to carry a gun or avoid deportation.

Experts at Rice University said that there were 300,000 marijuana-related arrests at the state level last year.
