Two prominent Cleveland real estate developers, Terri Hamilton Brown and Mitchell Schneider, have been appointed to the board of the North Coast Waterfront Development Corp. (NCWDC), tasked with guiding the future of the city's lakefront.
CLEVELAND , Ohio – Terri Hamilton Brown, the executive director of the St. Clair Superior Development Corp., and Mitchell Schneider, president of First Interstate Properties, Ltd., have been appointed to the board of the North Coast Waterfront Development Corp. (NCWDC). The NCWDC is a non-profit organization established by the city of Cleveland to oversee waterfront development and activities.
Brown, a seasoned Cleveland real estate professional, previously held positions with the city of Cleveland, the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, and University Circle Inc. Schneider's firm, First Interstate Properties, has a portfolio that includes notable projects such as Steelyard Commons in Cleveland, Legacy Village in Lyndhurst, and Avon Commons in Avon. \The appointments to the NCWDC Board were announced by Scott Skinner, executive director of the waterfront group, who emphasized the organization's commitment to equitable development and prioritizing community input in shaping the future of the downtown lakefront. David Gilbert, chair of the NCWDC, echoed this sentiment, stating that the new board members' perspectives and insights will be invaluable in making informed and strategic decisions. \The NCWDC is tasked with overseeing potential lakefront improvements, which Mayor Justin Bibb proposed last year. These improvements could be partially funded by new fees levied on parking, dining, retail purchases, and special events. The organization's role will involve overseeing the implementation and management of these fees, ensuring that they contribute effectively to the revitalization of the waterfront
