L.A. County supervisors approved a proposed $35.5 billion budget, but it's likely to change as the financial effects of the coronavirus become clear.
Among its recommendations:
Provide $430 million for homeless services, although, the county noted, there likely will be less money from Measure H available going forward because of the pandemic’s impact on sales tax revenue. The approval of the budget by the supervisors is the first step in the county’s annual process. Public hearings start May 13, and the board is expected to have final deliberations and adopt a budget by June 29.
