“I think Sabahans would definitely want to have lunch for just RM5,” - Datuk Junz Wong.
Warisan Vice-President Datuk Junz Wong said “Menu Rahmah” is definitely a good initiative by the Federal Government to offer consumers more dining options and lower the cost of living for those struggling to cope. “The initiative has received great response in West Malaysia, even the M40 and T20 consumers are flooding participating outlets to have lunch for just RM5. How often do you hear of RM5 meals nowadays? Even ‘economy rice’ costs more than that.
Wong said there are many ways the State Government can support and further expand this initiative, for example, offering incentives like discounting or waiving business licences, assessment fees and many things in order to encourage local Sabah eateries to participate in this initiative.” “Menu Rahmah”, an initiative under the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living , was launched last Tuesday offering RM5 meals for lunch or dinner at nearly 15,000 food premises nationwide.
