Exco Melaka pertahan gesaan larang warga asing beli beras tempatan

Dr Akmal Saleh dari Umno berkata, cadangan itu bukan untuk jangka panjang, tetapi mampu mengurangkan bebanan awal ketika krisis.

Dr Akmal Saleh menggesa kerajaan mengehadkan pembelian beras tempatan yang disubsidi kerajaan kepada rakyat Malaysia saja.

Exco Kemajuan Desa, Pertanian dan Keterjaminan Makanan Melaka, Dr Akmal Saleh berkata ia bukannya soal diskriminasi, tetapi keutamaan perlu diberikan kepada warga tempatan. “Mereka tinggal di rumah sewa ramai-ramai, makan pun secara berjemaah, tidak perlu membayar pinjaman kereta atau rumah, perbelanjaan sekolah anak dan lain-lain lagi.

Ketua Pemuda Umno itu berkata, cadangannya bukan untuk jangka panjang, tetapi sekadar langkah jangka pendek susulan kekurangan bekalan beras tempatan ketika ini.
