“The story of two women who find strength in each other despite their personal struggles, Mermaid’s Lament follows two women: Oee a traumatized woman who has lost her voice and may or may not be a mermaid. Her therapist, Dr. Nell Jamison battles with anxiety herself, attempts to help Oee overcome her delusions and connect with reality.
Mermaid’s Lament will screen at the TCL Chinese Theater on June 25, 2023, as part of the Dances with Films film festival in Hollywood.Jonathan Sim is a film critic and filmmaker born and raised in New York City.
