Trump discussed a range of topics, including the economy, immigration, the role of North Carolina in the 2024 election, and the The former president said his campaign planned to hold a mix of rallies and events similar to what he held in Asheville going forward."This was really on the economy, largely, and crime," Trump said of Wednesday's event. "They enjoyed it, we enjoyed it. It's very important."

When asked about specific savings the average American could see under another Trump tax cut, the former president said "many thousands of dollars" per year."We're going to bring energy prices down to a level that they haven't seen since me -- since four or five years ago," he said, adding he planned to lower energy prices by "50% and even more."

Trump reflected on the assassination attempt against him that happened during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024."It was an interesting moment. It was a terrible moment, I think, for our country. But in another way, we learned a lot," he said. "I think you learned a lot about God if you want to know the truth. I really believe that."
