Residents who live close to the course are bracing for lots of strangers and more cars on their streets.

Thousands and thousands of people will soon descend on Bethpage State Park golf course for the Ryder Cup."It'll be a fun experience," said Lynn Gordon, of Farmingdale. Nicholas Piasecki, with the PGA operations team, took News 12 for an exclusive ride around the park as they put the finishing touches on the course.

"Five years of planning and now we're in the execution phase so the excitement is definitely building," he said.Building will continue right up until tee off. Tickets for the competition are sold out and are being sold on secondary sites for double and triple the price. "We still have some availability on practice rounds, so I would scoop those up while you can," said Piasecki. Parking is going to be tricky for the Ryder Cup. There will be no public parking at the golf course, and anyone parking on Quaker Meeting House Road or in the ride share lot will be towed. Residents who live close to the course are bracing for lots of strangers and more cars on their streets. "My neighbors let the people park on their grass and their lawn, and they charge them the money for it," said Martin Sands, of Bethpage. You can Uber to the event, and public parking will be available at Jones Beach, where shuttles will bring ticketholders to the event.
