On Friday at 3:37 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an excessive heat watch valid from Monday 6 a.m. until Tuesday 8 p.m. for Western Chester, Eastern Chester, Western Montgomery, Eastern Montgomery, Upper Bucks and Lower Bucks as well as Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Delaware and Philadelphia counties.

The weather service states, "Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 108 degrees possible."

"Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events," comments the weather service.Recognize heat-related issues:The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas for outdoor workers.In emergency situations, dial 911 for immediate assistance.
