An excessive heat warning in southern Utah is expected to remain in place through Saturday night

The NWS warnings and advisories began taking effect Wednesday and Thursday for southern Utah and surrounding states. In addition to the Excessive Heat Warning, a Heat Advisory has been issued for the San Rafael Swell, Capitol Reef National Park and vicinity, South Central Utah, Western Canyonlands, and Southwest Utah. The advisory is in effect from Thursday morning through Friday night, with temperatures expected to reach up to 103 degrees in lower elevation areas and 95 degrees in the Capitol Reef area.
