Sunshine and hot temperatures will soon be on the way to Lancashire after a wet and cold start to the summer so far
The UK is poised for its first 29C heatwave of the year, as weather forecasts predict which regions will feel the heat the most.
This upcoming heatwave is expected to travel via Europe, peaking on June 29 - the penultimate day a red highlight blankets the country, signifying a surge in temperatures. Certain areas of the country are predicted to feel the heat more than others with London temperatures reaching up to 29C.In Lancashire, locals can expect temperatures around 24C.
Today's Met Office forecast reads: "Fairly cloudy at first, though mostly dry. A fine day unfolding with variable amounts of cloud and light winds, leading to some warm spells of sunshine. Perhaps some longer periods of sunshine developing into the evening. Maximum temperature 20C."
